Reserved for Ronnie and Nicole:

It's raining outside, and it's cold and disgustingly damp. Heart's snoring little small animal snores in her sleep, mumbling a little bit here and there. It makes me a chuckle a bit. Too stressed to sleep I try to relax my mind by watching the rain. My tired sleepy eyes appear to be fixed on the rain that pours outside, but in reality, my mind is elsewhere. Stressed. Constantly wondering and planning out how we're going to make it the next day. How we're going to manage to make food and to find shelter. Running like this isn't healthy, and sure enough we're going to get caught eventually.

My foot twitches each time a drop leaks through the hotel roof and lands itself upon my big toe. It feels like an ice cube is dropping on my toe every 3-5 seconds.
Heart and I hardly managed to find this place before it rained, and we're lucky Heart is such a talented sweet-talker. The inn-keeper was a young man, appearing to be only a couple years older than I-in his early twenties most likely. We took advantage of this, and I gave up my pride and allowed Heart to put her female manipulation to work. It's only been a couple days of constant running and my back and feet are completely numb from carrying Heart for over 24 hours straight. Only times we stopped were when Heart complained about lack of food and water, and needed to squat and pee.

What's that? A light? I sit up slowly, as to not make a sound through the vintage colonial style room. The floor creaks as I tip toe to the window and I glance outside to see the authorities climbing out of their all-black vehicle making their way up to the steps of the inn's lobby. This can't be good. It shouldn't have taken long for people to realize that the princess was missing, and I with her. Of course they'd blame me. That's not what really bothers me. What bothers me, is what the constant running will do to Heart. What they end up doing to me will effect her. How it will effect her..

Heart sits up, rubbing her eyes. She turns her head and see's that Cloud isn't beside her. She sits up slightly, seeing Cloud by the window. She yawns, covering her mouth. "Cloud?" She whispers softly. "What's going on?"

I catch Heart sitting up, the rings around her eyes are just as clear through the reflection of the window. I glance over my shoulder at her directly asI place my finger to my lips, "Shh," I whisper, "They're here, looking for us." My nose wrinkles up as I smell something familiar. "They've brought werewolves.." Without noticing the words come out with a growl. I quickly but quietly tip toe over, climb over the bed, and tip toe to the closed door-placing my ear against the door to try and hear down the stairs into the lobby. Ugh, even the damn door is cold and damp. The smell of the werewolves is a terrible smell to those with a strong nose. They carry the burden of having the scent of a wet dog that desperately needs a bath.
My eyes shift over to Heart,
"We need to go, now." I whisper sternly, plugging my nose as an attempt to restrain myself. I'd love to kick that damn door down, leap down those stairs, and strangle those damn wolves to death.
I hate werewolves. Most of all, I hate it when they try to act human, like these dumb fucks. They're not fooling anyone.
I grab for my bag throwing all of our dirty clothes back inside, I then throw my shoes on and wrap my belt back around my waist, clipping the sword in my sheath onto the black studded leather belt.
"Get dressed, Heart, we're gonna have to find somewhere else to sleep for the rest of the night."

With out further questioning, Heart stands up on the bed. Reaching over and throwing one of Cloud's shirt over her body. When they ran, they didn't get enough time to pack a lot of clothes, mainly Hearts. Cloud says that she should just steal some, but she refuses to do it. Just became they were on the run doesn't mean they have to become thief's. Heart knows that Cloud is just worried for her. Worried that the running is going to get to her. Which, he might be right but she would NEVER admit that to him. As far as she's concerned, being with him is worth losing everything. She goes to stand next to him, judging by the look on his face they must have brought werewolves. "How many are the-"
The floorboards creek under her feet. The noise loud in the quiet room. She freezes, looking at Cloud. "Not good..."

h&c book 2 Empty Decided to do a side little story when Cloud and Heart is on the run but have time to themselves.

Post  Heartaliee 11/29/2011, 5:40 am

Heart gasped, jerking awake from her nightmare. Her breath was coming in shallow pants, and her shirt clung to her chest from her sweat as she struggled to compose herself. She turned her head slightly to see if she woke Cloud up. She exhaled, closing her eyes when she saw he was still sound asleep.
Which was unusual considering he woke up with just the slightest sound or movement. She knew it was because of that constant running is why he was so exhausted. Slowly, she sat up easier herself out of the tight grip that he had around her waist. He was more physically protective than he was once before. He was always touching her in some way, almost as if he was afraid that if he didn't she would disappear. She stilled when he made a slight movement, grumbling something in his sleep.

She let out a sigh of relief when he did nothing more than roll over and start snoring. Loudly. She stifled a giggle, shaking her head. She slowly stood up out of their little make shift bed, and excited the hastily made tent. She took in a deep, soothing breath inhaling the scent of pine and dirt. They were getting close to Atlantis. She could feel it in her bones, felt the faint energy of fire. She knows that Cloud wasn't able to feel it, for it was something only people with fire blood would notice. He didn't want to admit it, but she knows he's just winging it direction wise. She smiled to herself, amused at her love. He was stubborn and hypocritical, often times more animal than man, but he was hers. She was worried though.
By being with him, she was endangering him. She knew he felt the opposite, thought that he was a danger to her but the truth is she never felt safer in someones arms. He would never hurt her, no matter how out of control he is. He made her feel complete, alive and normal. She will never forget the moment she first laid eyes on him. It was like a pull, and instant feeling of belonging. He was meant for her, and she was never going to let him go. She frowned, when her thoughts turned to her family.

She would be lying if she said she didn't miss them. She missed her brother, her parents,..her uncle. But they didn't understand. They never did.
If anything, they tolerated Cloud and humored her. Until it was time for them to step down as rulers and for her to take their place.
Her fist clenched in anger. She didn't want to be Queen, and how dare they assume that she did. How dare they just expected for her to accept and to... try to take him away from her. Heart looked back at the tent, opening the flap slightly so she can look at Cloud.
She chose him over her family. Ran away with him instead of accepting the title she was born to someday accept.
Did that make her a coward?
She looked down at Cloud, taking in his features and felt her heart tighten with the emotions she only gets when looking upon his face.
No. She decided, it made her in love.
