Ergonia: The Beginning

Post  Maretothebear on 3/20/2012, 12:16 am

This RP may move to other venues such as chat, vfk ect.
Rules:
-No God-modding (the act of deciding the reaction of another character without their permission)
-All characters must be earth bound. Ex. Elves, drow, fairies, trolls,.
-No otherworldly or immortal characters.
-Stay within the technology of the time period. No laptops were in the woods in medieval times.
- All characters must be brand new unless you plan on wiping the history of a current character and starting fresh. All characters are going to start at the same experience in the world, young, and inexperienced, just figuring things out.
- All abilities must be within reason. No overpowering powers.
- Do not turn this rp into a love fest. If your character falls in love with another, YOU STILL HAVE TO TALK TO EVERYONE ELSE.
- To add to the above rule; if romance happens keep it light. Nobody wants to read 6 sentences of romance to get to that little sentence said to them after. (in addition: any children need a person to play the character, if you have one you need to bring someone into the rp to be that person in a timely fashion.)
-Don’t force attacks on anyone. Make sure they want to fight you first.
-Don’t go serial killer and start bloodying everyone and killing them, can’t rp with a dead person.
-If a character is in the middle of something with 1 or more other characters, don’t run up and take the attention of them away from him/her. Ex. If character 1 is eating dinner with character 2, don’t come in and say “hey character 2 wanna go practice archery?” in the middle of the exchange as if nothing is happening.
Now, all characters are meant to start at the same level of experience and age. This means that although a village has elders, our characters are not them. Your character should be just learning a small bit of their overall ability. Ex. Your character is still struggling at hitting the bullseye in archery, or needing a lot of attempts to make a spell work.
The setting is medieval, in the mountains and woods, small villages, coexisting species and overall harmony. Everyone lives off the land. There are no large cities or towns yet.

Description:
This is a world full of creatures. Sometimes dwarves fight with drow but really, we coexist. Everyone has lived this way for a thousand years, and for many years to come. This is somewhat of a come of age type story. The world is separated by the land of the West, East, North, and South. Each separate but together on 1 continent apart from any other continent in the world called Ergonia. There is a high council (which nobody here is allowed to be part of as per my rules of everyone being equal BUT you may be the descendent of a living member of the council and not royal and everyone may reference it). The High Council convenes with 3 members from each land (north south east and west). Not everyone on the High Council has the best intentions but no matter what land you choose to say you live in the only difference is the climate.
North: Cold and Snowy year round
South: Hot and desert like year round
East: Spring-like ocean side land
West: Fall- like Mountainous land

Spoiler:

Any ability which your character is fostering doesn’t have to be connected to the land you’ve chosen. Just cause it’s hot doesn’t mean you can’t do something associated with ice. There is places in every land for evil to come together and sometimes people do go missing. Happy Rping Very Happy

Re: Ergonia: The Beginning

Starting.............NOW xD

It was the spring season in Ergonia. The trees were blooming in the East and West, the snow was thinning slightly in the North, and the South was nearly heated to unbearable highs. During this time all four of the lands were preparing for their spring trade festival. A week long event that kicked off the end of a bitter winter (bitter being a relative term) and the beginning of the time when the snow melted enough that the trade routes throughout the areas. The elders were up at the High Council Village where they would spend many days arguing over who was responsible for what and when. All four lands live in general harmony even though occasionally fights do break out among them. One season the south became enthralled in a light war with the north over their lack of delivered ice that would keep their food fresh. Another, the East fought the West when mulch had failed to be made in a large enough quantity. They knew that their world of Ergonia was not the only continent in the world at large, but they hadn't met them and barred the idea from coming true. Nobody wanted to. It was time once again also for the young creatures around to start training in whatever defense and craft they would one day be called master of. This called for acceptance of any young one into any land that they needed to learn within.

Chrystiana flew through the trees toward her home, it helped that she'd chosen to downsize instead of using her more elf like height of 4 and a half feet tall. As she landed she tried doing as her sisters taught her earlier, growing to full size as she touched the ground and instead tumbled forward into a passing cart of oranges, sending them careening toward the ground as the owner yelled. It was annoying to stop and explain herself when she was so late already. The cart owner mumbled as she handed him the last orange and bolted toward the house where she could already smell dinner being made in the kitchen. Fairy folk often cooked together and ate as a large group, a part of their existence older than the trees they built their full size homes attached to. "Chrystiana! You were supposed to be here hours ago! Here, take the book and start reading I'm sure you'll be tested after dinner. That fool of a master trainer always does that nonsense", her older sister by a year explained as she set foot in the house. Rolling her eyes, Chrystiana nodded, smiled, and in passing grabbed the book on the way to her room. Studying always annoyed her since she could never figure out how all this book work made her wise enough to learn anything in the world. All it taught her was history. Nonetheless, her sister was painfully right and she began copying every page down from one to fifty, a process she'd repeated many..many..times.

Etherlam ran through the dark tunnels, his drow eyes allowing him to see with no light, his feet sprinting quickly as voices were ehard yelling somewhere far back in the cave, echoing off the walls. He was shirtless, it had been torn during all the fighting, his white hair flying behind him as he kept going, despite his injuries that burned with pain. His House had just sacerficed his father to Loth, the Spider Queen and goddess of the drow, they took from him his closet family, his kin were evil, worshipping a diety of choas and anarchy, his father had been like him, but when that was found out he was immediatly offered as sacerfice. In a rage of the loss, Etherlam killed one his sisters and his only brother, he had been able to sneak up on them, but the rest of his family was much older and almost captured him as sacerfice too and now here he was, running for dear life to get out of the Underdark. He was nervous, he had no idea what to expect, but at the same time he knew going back meant certain death so on he ran. When he neared the entrance he pulled out two special daggers he stole from the family vault and threw hem at the end of the entrance, exploding as he lept free, collapsing the cave entrance behind him. He got up and as soon as he did his eyes burned and tears ran down his cheek, even though the sun was low and not as bright, he'd never been outside for seven-teen years, it hurt, and he got up, gasping as the adrenaline wore off, and he felt the great gash across his chest, it hurt to breath but he had to go on, so he walked, holding his chest, eyes closed tightly to avoid the suns glare.

It had been a long winter for the west, but things were finally starting to look up. With her pale yellow eyes, Vex looked toward the sky. It had passed into the afternoon, how quickly the morning had passed by. Stretching her arms, she frolicked into her parents store. Her parents owned an herb shop in the center of their home village, and she was their apprentice. Vex's job was to head out into the sun-lit woods and gather what herbs, berries and firewood she could find for the day. Gathering was difficult work, but Vex didn't really mind. She loved the feeling of the dry leaves crunching under her sandals. As soon as Vex walked in the door, she found her mother glaring down at her " Where have you been young lady? You're late for the sunflower harvest. Now hurry and get your basket, get into the woods and gather as much as you can to make up for lost time. If you weren't my own daughter you'd be out of a job." Her mother said with a heavy sigh, but a calm tone. Vex with a hint of remorse in her eyes quickly snatched her basket from the counter and skipped out the back door.

As Vex made her way through the pathways as she could view all of the busy work those of her home had ahead of them. Vex always found herself day dreaming, it was so easy to get lost into her thoughts. It was only when she walked right into a passing baker did she awaken from her dream state. Shaking her head as she backed away from the clearly upset man, she spun passed him and ran for the forest. " Sorry! " She shouted as she moved out of the village. Once her feet touched the familiar grass, she knew her work had begun.

As the sun settled down, Roxas watch as the moon came to bout, showing off it lovely and everlasting light. He lean his head up and let out a mighty howl while it was being join by others who lived in his area. In the North with its snow and cold breeze. It was the picture location for a lycan to be. A lot of game was for them to hunt while he could be carefree without breaking any laws or being judge. He roar a bit as he embrace the moon as it was a dear friend. Roxas had a job to do. He must train and hunt for his village no what comes. He was good but not as great as his Father Von. His father, Von always led him to hunt for game and train him any time he could get. "Roxas," His father called out for him and arrived before him," It's time for another hunt. Let's go." They both head towards the mountains, seeing a lot of game. Roxas bear his fangs, ready to strike. His father couldn't do anything but chuckle and motion for them to strike. Without hesitation, their prey was in their mouths as they carried it back to their village in the North.

Roxas and Von arrived to their home and began to feast, ending another day in the North.

Spoiler:
Full Name: Esther Fognes
Species/Creature: Snow Elf
Age (14-17): 14
Appearance:
Land: North
Lions Name: Bugel

Letting out puffs of hot air every now and then, a great white lion was galloping through the ice fields of North Ergonia, the slender girl bouncing on it's back in an even pattern, matching her bounces with the lions front legged part of his stride. Her icy green eyes examining all around her. With one hand on her sword and another holding on to the lion's mane, she sat comfortably on the lion. It was becoming spring, thus the lion's smooth pads and claws slipping every few yards. Whenever it slipped, the girl leaned to the opposite side that the great white beast was falling, balancing it erect once more. Pulling hard on the lion's mane, it stopped and she slid off, landing in the melting snow.
"Bugel," the girl said, looking into the magnificent creature's eyes.
"Esther," it replied. Bugel pressed his nose into Esther's side. She smiled and placed a hand on his forehead. Bugel made a soft growling sound, imitating a small feline. Esther smiled again and nuzzled her face into his. Bugel pulled away and looked behind him, noticing a bush rustling. He ignored it and stood up to go hunting with Esther.

Re: Ergonia: The Beginning

Post  Damon on 3/23/2012, 10:31 pm

The south of Ergonia was known for its scorching heat and massive deserts that seemed to stretched forever. Numerous homes, some completely made out of sand and others made out fine-crafted wood, populated the area. Yacun was leaning against the wall of his sand home. Small stones acted as a small pathway leading up to his door while a small fence, also made out of sand, outlined the extent of his parents small property. The ground felt as if it was molten lava, the heat being the reason why Yacun stood in the shade, his eyes closed as his keen ears moved about, picking up noises from within the area. The hot wind ran through his fur, picking up a small handful of sand with it and spewing dust off around the house. The young Tigran soon opened his eyes, a look of pondering in his eyes. Earlier before his father left to go to work at the blacksmith, he told Yacun that he was creating a small sword to help with his training. Yacun's mother always wished for him to become a part of the Council rather than train to fight, but it seemed Yacun did not prefer that. He wouldn't see his father until tonight, but by then Yacun would in bed, sleeping.

I'll just stay up tonight, Yacun thought to himself. His tail ran across the sand, leaving a trail in the sand as he brought his arms up to cross them. There was nothing else to do at the moment. Spring was here and even though preparations for the spring trade festival were underway in the South, the hot climate greatly held back progress. It was usually at night where the area grew in activity. Yacun wouldn't be able to get accustomed to being nocturnal until he reached adulthood. By then, Yacun planned, he would be allowed to go into more advance training. His training master, Rasgard, though crippled with series of war wounds scattered all over his body, always stood by Yacun. The tigran could remember when his mother told him about Rasgard partaking in the war against the North. The terrible foray into one of the North's villages turned out into a battle against the small army of the South. So Rasgard bares the wounds to represent the seriousness in war, the main reason why he is known in the town for failing nearly every student of his.

Off behind Yacun the sun casted a shadow, bathing him in coolness at the moment. Another wind swept by, carrying the scorching heat with it. Yacun closed his eyes again, remembering the series of small training matches he was placed in against Rasgard. Personally he knew of Rasgard's reputation for failing a lot of students, but that was the fuel he needed to keep Rasgard's on his good side and pass him into the more advance training. But, that wouldn't occur until after the spring trade festival, or so Yacun was led to believe by Rasgard.

Chrystiana barely finished fifteen pages before her mentor practically materialized in the room next to her. She turned quickly, startled, and stood up looking at him. "Before you lecture me I'd like to tell you that that field was already going to be flooded." She stated as her voice shook, her ears twitching slightly as she grew more nervous at his silence. Finally he appeared to have settled on his anger fired words. "You disappoint me and you disappoint this family and this community I might add. Be ready to tell your father when he gets back from Council. He'll want to know his youngest is a failure." He stated in a flat unemotional tone before walking back out of the room giving her no time to come up with a response. Shaking with frustration she sat back down and stared out the window. It had only been this morning when the same man had praised her slightly for her progress. Oh how things changed when a small dam had broken just as she'd started pulling bubbles of water up out of it with a raise of her hand. Chrystiana then composed herself and decided to skip dinner this evening, she wanted a desperately needed walk, even if it was the hour of darkness, a time of day when the more fearless and brutal night creatures roamed doing their own tasks. Her cloaked luckily covered her mostly as she went down the path toward where her friends often collected to make use of themselves for the elders of the area.

It was night time now but Ether wasn't completly sure what that even was, all he knew was that he could see a bit easier but even that bright white object in the black sky stung at his eyes and he could barely see a thing, he had to use his hands to feel around on the trees, pushing against them as he kept going, his injuries not getting any better, the large gash on his chest was now only bleeding slightly, he could feel an arrow protruding from his shoulder but he ignored it to keep going. Eventually he found a path, feeling the rock and dirt beneath his boots and whenever he touched something soft he felt around till he found the path again and kept traveling along it. His drow ears twitched as he heard voices off in the distance and started to follow it, he had some training in not using his eyes but didn't complete it along with most of his other training. He did not have his hopes up though, he knew of the dark elf reputation on the surface and it was not good, before he had been taught to learn that surface creatures were the evil ones, but his father told him otherwise and after what had happened hours ago, he trusted his father. He stopped to catch his breath and heard the voices were close and he was nervous, he had no idea what was waiting for him, so he took a deep breath and pushed beyond the bushes, speaking quickly, "Please....help.." He said it wasn't to loud though for after he said it, his eyes rolled back and Etherlam fell forward, fainting at a creature's feet.

Re: Ergonia: The Beginning

By the time Vex had finished her duties, it had long become nightfall. With the moon high above her, Vex pranced through the forest, with a basket filled with nothing but sage, rosemary, thyme, Sunflower seeds, Bara root, a few daisies and a few mushrooms, she made her way back home. She knew this wouldn't be enough to make her mother happy, but Vex didn't really seem to care. Even though she was born of the sun, Vex always loved the moonlight. To her, the sun-beams and moon-beams felt exactly the same. Soon, Vex found herself at the bank of the lake that meant home was nearby. She could see her homely hut, dark. Meaning she had missed dinner and everyone else had fallen asleep.

Sighing gently, Vex walked her way home. She sneaked her way into the door, being as quiet as she possibly could. She knew no one would wake up. Even if a strong wind blew the entire place down, her mother and her sisters would not awake. Placing her basket onto the counter. Vex made up her mind. It was time she left. As easy going as her life was, Vex always loved to explore, to see what else was out there other than sitting at home and being nothing but her demeaning mothers errand girl. She would leave tonight, before the sun's warmth filled the village. Grabbing a satchel from their storage, Vex filled it with what she could take. One or two apples, a loaf of bread, a canteen filled with water, bandages for if she got hurt, a map of the known area, A piece of flint along with a grated rod of metal, the herbs she had gathered that afternoon, a pocket knife, and her fathers staff.

Vex's father had passed away when she was a young girl, he always taught her to raise her head high, and let the sun guide her course. She loved him dearly, and the only piece she had left of her father was his staff. It was her right to take it, as much as her mother hated that her father had left her youngest daughter a weapon. Once she was ready, Vex wrote her goodbye on a scroll. Once she said what she needed, she placed it next to the empty basket onto the counter. She was free. Nodding to herself, Vex grabbed her white and tan cloak and tied it to rest around her neck. Taking a deep breath, out the door she went, and down the path south of her home village.

Roxas sat on top of his home after getting done eating and look over the mountains and wonder about what's over there. He was born and raised here. Only that rose his curiosity was hearing only stories of the people outside of his village were about it of going places far and wide. He look at the snow, loving the cold and how soft it felt against his rough, hairy skin. He notice his father right by him with a pint of cold fresh beer, drinking it away as he plop right by his son. He spoke to him "Roxas I might b time for you to explore the world. You're coming into age and I believe the time is right." He smile at his only son and rub his head with Roxas's surprise that his father would want to push him out to explore the world. Finally he felt free even though he was free already but its the principle of the matter you get it. But it was too early to leave now. The next day would be better.

He went downstairs and begun to pack the essentials and couldn't help but to smile as he was gonna be a man without his father having his back and constantly watching over him as always. It felt good for him and he didn't want to pass it up

“CHRISSY!!!!!” her high strung friend Lillian screamed, her pitch so shrill it made everyone cringe at Chrystiana’s nickname. “Chrissy, help, I’m being attacked by a...a dark non moving creature! IT’S TRYING TO EAT MY SHOES!! I just bartered for these!” she continued in panic. Chrystiana rolled her eyes and walked up to the creature that was obviously not moving an inch whether it be by fear, force, or plain old lack of consciousness. She nearly had her hands on him to flip him over when one of the boys in her group pulled her back protectively and did it himself. The blood streaked shirt and exposed arrow explained itself. “Someone carry him into the healer this instant”, Chrissy ordered without a second thought. “But Chrissy, he could be a criminal, he could have earned those wounds.” Another friend Lily said, the sentiments being echoed by others nearby. “ Do as I say, even if he is a sad story of a criminal, just take the fool into the healer and open new wounds later if need be.” She replied to it and started to walk away really not caring any more interest than that. “Oh and Lily, pay attention in class more often, that creature is a drow, and if he’s above ground goodness help you for not having wings if he hears you talking that way.” She laughed and flew off toward home.

Re: Ergonia: The Beginning

Post  Etherlam on 3/26/2012, 10:53 pm

Etherlam's forest green eyes started opening what seemed to be minutes later to him but was actually hours, it was almost sunrise and his vision was still blury. Looking over to his right he noticed an orange flickering flame, the drow were trained to conjur similiar lights but they were always purple or blue, he'd never seen an orange one before, and he felt a heat coming off of it, the fire drow made only gave off light, he was entranced by the red and orange dance it did, but then he heard voices and snapping back to reality he looked around, he was in a wooden room, laying on a straw bed. Sitting up quickly was a bigm istake, he felt all dizzy and groggy and his chest and shoulder were sore, looking he saw his gash had been stitched together. His eyes adjusted a little ut he couldn;t see to far in front of him and he turned to the sound of a door opening, what seemed like an old man gasped in surprise at seeing the drow standing who was suppose to be getting bed rest. Etherlam wasn't sure how to react, he'd never met a surface creature before and had no idea what was going on, on pure instuct he twisted his right hand slightly and a blade slid free of the bracer on his wrist and he pointed it at the old man. "Where am I?" Ether demanded to know but the words came out slurred and he cursed under his breath when the man called for help, he leaped out the window only to find himself flat on the ground, having no balance and surrounded by so many more buildings, people stared and gasped at the sight of an actualy dark elf in their village and getting up he ran, not sure where to go, he was already lost in the maze of buildings, shouting in the back ground and all around him.

By the time her village was long out of sight, it was morning. From the top of a hill, Vex looked to the valley below her as it glistened in sunlight. The sun was always beautiful in the morning. Pausing for a moment, Vex moved to the side of the road, kneeling into the grass. Pulling out her map, she matched where she was. Vex had found herself between all four areas. The Great Divide. This was the place where you could head anywhere in any direction you wanted. All she knew, is that she didn't want to go back East. Her best bet was to head to another district, to see if she could meet some new friends.

This is what scared Vex. Though she had always been so carefree, she was never the best when it came to life decisions. hen she would make it to the Divide, what path should she take? The south was always scorching hot, as she had heard from her father, while the north always had a swift and cool breeze. The west was very similar to the East in climate, but not in creatures. Taking a deep breath and letting it out in a sigh, Vex sat in the grass, watching the clouds pass above her. She would have to decide. If she didn't, she'd never get anywhere. " I guess I'll let the wind guide me. " She said calmly with her honey smooth voice. With a soft smile, Vex picked up her satchel and staff, and headed toward the Great Divide.

As the morning came, Roxas had his things ready as he look to his father who was smiling big and pat his shoulder, reassuring him his nervousness. He breathe out slightly as he had his pack on his back, heading out of the door. Many of his friends waited on him outside of the door. They gave his farewell hugs and wish him to experience everything that's coming to him whether it was good or bad. They knew he would be prepare for it. He gave them a few hugs and handshakes, heading out of village. He reached the mountain side as he look down the snow to his village, he smile then turn forward to see the other land and seeing a bright beam of light which was the sun over the horizon. Roxas' face turn into a big grin and got on all fours, running down the snow cape to a new land that felt weird at first but he got accustomed to it.He ran across the land on his hind legs, looking at how bright the sun was. He steadily walk off in a random direction hoping to find another creature beside the buzzards that circle the sky and himself. He smell the air countless times but it was the same but suddenly he picked up a scent of something different from him and the scavengers. He ran into the direction of it, he didn't know it but he was heading to the Great Divide.

After an hour, they had managed to catch a snow hare and a seal(they're in the North, so yeah XD). Being tired and exhausted, Bugel had let Esther ride on his back and after a few minutes of huddling in his fur, she fell asleep. He did not know where to go so he found an old polar bear's den and huddled into it, curling his great warm body around the small and fragile girl. He kept watch while she slept, and pretended to be sleeping whenever she stirred. Bugel opened his eyes and looked outside of the cavernous den, taking in the breathtaking sunset. Thinking about waking the girl to see it with him, he decided not to and fell asleep himself.

Opening her eyes, Esther looked startlingly at her surroundings. She sat up to observe more. Looking around, she appeared to be in a huge, dark, cavernous den. Ouside was a beautiful orange sunset. She crawled to the entrance and sat there, taking in the huge sun going down. Esther had always loved the sun at it's most beautifullest. Hearing deep snoring behind her, she turned around and saw Bugel, the white lion snoring away. Smiling, she gathered her arrows and slid them into the bluish leather quiver and slung it onto her back. Esther strung the strong willow longbow and crawled out of the cave. Looking around her, she knew exactly where she was and knew that Bugel did too. Breathing in, she took off in the most quiet path. With her feet barely touching the ground as she ran, she jumped and shot and arrow in midair, penetrating the fox through the right eye, sending the arrow through the left as well killing the creature instantly. With her lip curling as she landed, she retrieved her kill and ran back to the cave, falling asleep once more.

It was a calm and peaceful day as Ryshar, or Rich as a more common name, looked up towards the early morning sunlight. He then took a moment to take in his surroundings, the evergreens adding a touch of color to the otherwise constant canvas of glistening snow, in the stages of partial melting that meant spring was on its way. Rising silently, Rich slipped a hood over his jet black hair as he began to navigate his way through the woods, the only sounds that he heard was the crunch of snow beneath his feet and the occasional breath that he took. He had just finished a period of meditation, gathering his thoughts and sharpening his mind in order to strengthen himself, and was on the way back to the small village he called home.

The walk took him about an hour, but he ran into little trouble along the way, and before he knew it, he was within sight of his childhood home. A small smile appeared on his face. Rich always felt safer, more calm when he was in the village. He walked along the side paths of the village, for he tended to be more of a solitary figure, preferring to be alone. He spotted his house, a medium sized hut made around a great evergreen, as most of the snow elves' houses were, and slipped in quietly through the front door. He hailed his mother and father, giving a polite bow as he entered the doorway, then removed his hood and hung it on the back of a chair, in the dining area. He exchanged polite conversation with the both of them before climbing a stairway that spiraled the trunk of the tree that led to his room. With a sigh, he sat himself into his chair at his desk, littered with books, trinkets, and drawings of the wildlife of the North. He paid little attention to them, however, and looked out the window directly across from him, yearning to one day leave the North, and set out on a life of adventure, a life of freedom.

Rich sat there for many hours, content to let his imagination run wild of a life that he wished to partake in, finally taken back to reality when his father called down to him, letting him know that supper was ready. Rich shook his head, surprised to see that the sun was setting. Have I truly been sitting here for so long? I guess time slips by when you're dreaming. Rich shook his head, and then rose from the chair, beginning his descent of the stairs to the living area.

Chrystiana woke up the following morning and skirted out the front door trying not to wake up the whole house. She had so many brothers and sisters who would nosily try and get her in trouble if they knew she was awake. Today was going to be an archery practice day she'd decided. She wanted to go down to the field where they usually left the targets up for younglings like herself. She hoped to see a few friends if possible but wasn't too hopeful given most of them hadn't been given permission to train in anything other then their home craft. It was very early yet though so a little stop in the village to see if she could charm some bread out of the baker didn't seem like it would mess her schedule up. Chrystiana liked these early morning walks since they were so peaceful and without silly teaching older creatures to torment her. As she was headed to the village she noticed a crop of warrior types coming her way. It wasn't on her plan to be harassed so she took a short cut through the woods. Suddenly as she was weeding through the outlier buildings, she heard a commotion of screams and banging around. Before she could even think to investigate she heard the most familiar one of all, the snapping of a vine bear trap, and looked to the nearest tree to find the very drow who she ordered be helped last night, upside down. Chrystiana couldn't help herself. It was too easy. She landed and looked at the tangle of arm restraints, one leg dangling while the other was tied to the branch. "Hmm, you don't look like a bear, trying to get the feel of the above ground from a new angle perhaps?" she asked, arms crossed and laughing. "or maybe perhaps I had it all wrong when i saw you laying face down on my friends shoes, and you actually wanted those wounds open again?"

Etherlam gave a growl, cursing himself for getting careless and missing the trap he should have easily seen, he had been trained to notice such simple trains since he was ten years of age. He looked around at the sound of the female voice but he only saw her as a blur, the sun still keeping him from seeing to clearly, he tried to cut the rope with the blade from his hidden bracer but his hand was to tight against the branch and he had no leverage so all he could do was relax and think, stall his time by talking to the girl, her voice sounded familiar but he didn't know how at all. "Let me go, you've no right to keep me here." He demanded, his muscles straining as he tried to pull the rop apart with just his strength, but it was easier said then done, he figured the material must be used for bigger creatures other than himself, he couldn't even get it to budge and he knew if he was here to long, the villagers would find him, he wasn't sure how surface people treated dark elf but he was fairly certain he didn't want to find out. He gasped slightly at the unexpected pain and looked to see that his struggling almost caused one of his stitchings to fall loose, the stretching stung the gash and he relaxed again against the throbbing pain, no matter what he did he seemed it was a lose-lose situation.

Morning had arrived and Yacun found himself half-awake, lying on his small bed. I must have fell asleep outside. Father probably carried me in. Soon, there was a small knock at the small wooden door and then the doorknob moved, the door opening and Yacun's mother briskly walking in. She was a tall, slim Tigran. Her eyes were set upon the window, obviously with the intent of letting sunlight into the room, unaware that Yacun was listening. "It's time to get up, Yacun. You fell asleep outside and your father had to carry you inside. If training is that fatiguing then maybe you should ask Rasgard for a couple of days off." Ahura said. "I know, I'm already awake, mother." Yacun replied, a small tone of annoyance in his voice. He sat up in his bed, his tail moving around as he stretched. "I know you're still tired, why not ask to take a few days off?" Ahura asked, turning to face Yacun. He shook his head, finally standing up to stretch again. "No, father is almost done with the sword and Rasgard would never let me have a few days off," answered Yacun. "Besides, I'll be off when the Spring trading festival arrives. Rasgard wouldn't have any authority to tell me to train on that day, anyway."

His mother gave Yacun a keen stare before slightly shrugging her shoulders and then walking out of the room. Just when she walked out, she yelled back at him. "Breakfast was already done. Your father ate his while you were still sleeping. Today he's off but he said he wanted to finish the sword. Once you're done with your training today, maybe you could visit your father and help him out." That last sentence sparked Yucan's curiosity as it caused him to hurry with getting himself ready for training. After wolfing down his cold food, he was soon walking out the door, heading down the road to where Rasgard stood off in the distance, his eyes focused up towards the empty blue sky. The temperature was rising quickly, even though it was just morning, and Yacun, though used to the heat, felt the wave of hatred of the climate come over him.

"Young Yacun...We will go to the Cliff of Dunes to continue our training," Rasgard said, his deep voice almost startling Yacun who was still thinking about getting his training over with and helping his father. "If I feel you did well today, I will send you on a special mission to get some supplies in the East." To the land of East? That is going to be a long journey, especially if I am going by foot. "No worries, Yacun. I have arranged the Prowler to assist you" Rasgard said, his statement basically answering what Yacun was thinking. "But let us focus on the training first." Rasgard began walking quickly as the village behind them grew smaller and the ground grew hotter. Soon massive dunes populated their entire view as from their eyes, miles away, a large pile of sand leading up to a cliff that overlooked the entire area laid before them, a faint figure appearing to be standing on the edge of the cliff. The Cliff of Dunes...Well, I might as well get this over with.
