Ergonia: The Beginning

Chrystiana got lost in the song she was playing. It transformed the world around her into something mystical and beautiful. When she finished it she opened her eyes to find Etherlam watching her. She blushed like someone caught naked, because thats how exposing her emotions felt. "Careful Etherlam, your face is betraying serenity which is rare so it would seem. I'd play for hours just to keep you looking like that" she laughed mostly in embarrassment of his watching. Chrystiana looked away from his gaze then, "what do you say we camp high in one of these trees for the night?"

When she finished playing he shook free of his trance and said nothing, only pulling his head up more and looked up at the tree she pointed at, tiny hooks sprung from his gloves and he easily scaled up the tree, testing out one of the thicker branches to see if it would hold his weight. "You better get that blush checked out, I've never seen someones face turn such a bright shade of red." He told her as he slowly started too lay down.

"Yea, whose gonna check it out, I don't see any medicine men here." she snapped back and flew to the top few branches of the tree where she sat down calmly indian style and balanced evenly. "Anyone ever tell you you are quite arrogant and yet naive."she cocked her head to the side thinking on it. Someone so ahead of her in learning yet she knew twice his knowledge in everything else. It was enough to give her a struggle to keep her stubborn mouth shut. She would try her hardest not to burst his bubble though. He seemed to like it.

Shutting his eyes he grinned and snickered to himself, pulling his hood down over half his face, "Well you're outa luck the only herbs I know to use grow underground." He told her, somehow able to be comfortable even with all the many weapons he kept hidden. "And you're out of luck, the only thing it seems im not is a medicine man heheh. But maybe we'll find one in the next town we may happen to come accross by chance, hopefully before breakfast, we'ew almost out of food already." He said rather tiredly as if it did not concern him.

Chrystiana rolled her eyes not caring that it was childish and leaned against the tree trunk looking out at the stars. She pulled an apple from her pack and started eating it. She didn't realize how tired she was until she was relaxed listening to the night creatures. But then she heard sounds that meant larger creatures and mentally grew paranoid of them as the world grew darker with night. She shrunk down to fairy size and silently flew to Ether's branch sitting in the crevice behind his head. Something about being near him made her feel like nothing would bother her here. She closed her eyes and her mind quieted.

The drow grinned slightly, keeping his eyes closed but his elven ears heard her fly close and hide in the nearby crack in the tree but he said nothing, pulling his cloak even tighter around him to keep the cold at bay. He didn't get to sleep instantly like he wanted too, instead he thought again, just like the last few nights he tried sleeping, including those before he escaped the Underdark and the ones when he met this fairy. When Etherlam was finally able to sleep it was not peaceful, he had the same nightmare again, him thinking he could save his father but it always ended the same.
